A Championship Experience in Our Backyard

This invitational-style event brings together 84 elite amateur golfers from across the U.S. and around the world. There’s no cut — meaning fans get three full days of competitive golf and the chance to walk along with future stars long before they hit the big tours.

It’s the kind of championship-level atmosphere you usually have to travel for… but here, it’s right in the heart of St. Johns County.

A Renovated Course Built for Serious Play

If you haven’t been out to the St. Johns Golf Club recently, you’re in for a surprise.

The club completed a $7.9 million renovation and reopened in late 2022 with a refreshed layout, classic “template hole” inspirations, and just over 7,000 yards of championship-length golf. It’s the perfect stage for a high-caliber amateur event — and a great walk for spectators.

Supporting Local Kids Through First Tee – North Florida

One of the best parts of the St. Augustine Amateur is its impact beyond the leaderboard.

Net proceeds from the tournament directly support First Tee – North Florida, helping young people in our community build confidence, character, and life skills through golf. Since 2004, the Amateur has generated more than $400,000 for the program.

When you show up to watch, you’re supporting the next generation of golfers and leaders right here at home.

A Trophy With Local Flavor

The winner of the St. Augustine Amateur doesn’t just get bragging rights — they take home the iconic Conquistador Helmet Trophy, a nod to the deep history and heritage of America’s oldest city. It’s one of the most unique prizes in amateur golf.

Plan Your Visit

Whether you're a golfer, a local sports fan, or just looking for an outdoorsy weekend activity, this event is easy to enjoy. Bring comfortable shoes, grab a few friends, and make a day of it out on the course.
