Key Beach Driving Rules to Remember

Before you head onto the sand, here are a few beach-driving essentials every driver needs to follow:

  • Speed limit is 10 mph at all times.

  • Stay inside the designated driving lane marked by cones.

  • Park on the west side of the driving lane — chairs and tents belong on the oceanside for safety.

  • Driving access depends on conditions — high tides, soft sand, or weather can temporarily close ramps.

  • Special activities (horseback riding, 4x4 North Beach driving, commercial uses) require additional permits.
